Speyside Cooperage - Master Cooper Tour

The Master Cooper Tour is a unique opportunity to experience the smells, sounds and sights of our Cooperage.
View our skilled Coopers at work close up and first hand as they build barrels to exacting standards against the clock. Your experienced guide, a former Cooper himself, will accompany you through our Cooperage beginning with an informative 4D sensory presentation followed by a visit to the viewing gallery and an in-depth tour-and-talk explaining the role of the Cooper and the cask making process. Take a look behind the scenes outside to try nosing a selection of different casks and learn about the different types. You will witness our qualified Coopers with their Apprentices to discover how they learn this ancient traditional craft and then the grand finale – the firing of a cask. After the tour you enjoy a dram of our own label 10 year old malt in our coffee shop, served to you in a Speyside Cooperage tasting glass which is yours to keep along with a Cooperage golf towel. Choose your selection from our range of speciality teas and coffees which are served with locally made petit four shortbreads.
